KmaG Music: Custom Beats/ Engineering Services
Final Reflection
Throughout this project I have become more familiar with Pro Tools working with other programs in addition to now being able to create my own sound assets from raw sounds. This in itself is a personal achievement on my journey to becoming an audio professional. So what made me proudest? It was not that I completed the project but more so because I didn't give up. With everything happening so fast not understanding an error can certainly dampen optimism but I stuck with it made sure to consult with the client to get there input and also consulted my peers to make sure assets were what the client was seeking.
But during this project I was also challenged the most with editing and creating my Kraktoh loop. This seemed very odd to me because my second ambience was flawless but somehow there was click in the other which meant the asset was NOT seamless. This was the most frustrating thing after receiving multiple errors and actually starting the asset from the beginning more than three times. But by not quitting I was able to get to the root of the error message repair the asset and complete the project.
From the very beginning of this project I felt as though my Vaporizer was my most developed asset . I partially felt this way because I spent a significant portion of time on the initial source captures (12) editing out undesired frequencies, and once got feedback layering the sound to create a single massive one-shot asset. Aside from the time spent with the used asset I also took my feedback and created alternative options for the client. While on the other end of the spectrum my least developed asset would have to be my Teleporter assets. I feel as though my teleport asset was the lease developed asset because it didn't require as much attention as other assets like the Kraktoh asset that needed to be repaired. Ultimately looking back if I could I would tell myself to remain tenacious in the face of opposition or challenge to find a definite solution.Through this journey I have learned many useful tools to implement in a time of need but there are two that I am already actively using that I had not before. First the methods of creating seamless loops/ambiences. The crossfades have endless applications until this project I hadn't used them much but I use them in my production. In addition to the crossfades, automation of plugin parameters. Before recent times I had no idea the capabilities of Pro Tools and automation of everything but since I have learned this I have also implemented this skill into other projects I am currently working on and so far it has increased my workflow exponentially
